Transmigration: A Plan to Save My Lovely Wife and Adorable Child
Chapter 116 – Taboo Topics in Front of Girls!
When Gu Xingyi returned to the private room, he was surprised to find that everyone’s energy had completely changed. They had finished reading the script and were now staring at him with eyes practically glowing.
The older Fu Hongwei was the first to speak.
“Xingyi, this anime of yours is absolutely incredible! I’ve been in this industry for years, and it’s the first time I’ve seen a domestic animation this exciting. I have a feeling—once this anime is released, it’s going to take the animation world by storm!”
The other four nodded vigorously in agreement, clearly backing up what Hongwei-ge had said.
Gu Xingyi scratched his nose a little sheepishly at the praise. Honestly, all credit should go to Mi Er-daren from his original world—it had absolutely nothing to do with him.
While writing the script for Under One Person, he had done some research on this world’s animation industry, especially domestic animation. It was still stuck in the old-school animation style. Even the few recent releases were mostly imitating Japanese anime in content.
So while writing this script, Gu Xingyi deliberately combined the very short original first and second seasons to create a brand new, fuller first season.
What made Under One Person different from this world’s domestic animations was that its setting followed the development of Hua country’s history, along with traditional Hua sect elements.
Like that most iconic line from the original world:
"Wudang Wang Ye, here to greet the old heavenly master."
Just that one simple line instantly conveyed traditional Hua mountain-clan rituals and the prestige of two sects.
So, he wasn’t surprised at all that everyone loved the script. Honestly, it would’ve been more surprising if they didn’t love it!
“As long as you all liked it, that’s good enough. I guess this counts as my small contribution to Hua animation!”
Gu Xingyi grinned as he returned to his seat.
Seeing everyone so pumped up, Chen Feng stood up, pulled Gu Xingyi back to his feet, and insisted he say a few words to encourage the team.
Chen Feng was clearly proud that Gu Xingyi had earned everyone’s recognition. As both his good brother and the company’s chief director, he was genuinely thrilled.
Seeing Chen Feng looking so pleased, Gu Xingyi stood again, thought for a moment, glanced at Chen Feng, and smiled slyly.
“Alright then, I’ll say a few words. Ahem! You guys might not know this, but your boss Chen Feng has really been through the wringer on this path. He—”
“Damn it! Shut up!”
Realizing Gu Xingyi was about to spill his backstory, Chen Feng immediately panicked and pounced, covering Gu Xingyi’s mouth with both hands.
He just wanted a few words of motivation! What was this brat doing airing his dirty laundry?
Everyone’s curiosity was instantly piqued. They had no idea what kind of past their boss Chen Feng had gone through—but judging by this reaction, there was definitely some juicy gossip!
Gu Xingyi blinked innocently at Chen Feng.
His expression clearly said: You told me to say something!
In his heart, he genuinely believed that nothing could motivate everyone more than that story!
Unfortunately, he never got the chance to share it. Chen Feng guarded him like a hawk, his eyes sharp as a thief’s, watching Gu Xingyi's every move.
After the feast, the group returned to the office, fired up with motivation. Chen Feng had to head to the TV station to handle script review and other procedures. Gu Xingyi, originally planning to be hands-off, got pulled back in by Chen Feng. He wanted Gu Xingyi to accompany him in a few days to the Media University to recruit voice actors and other positions.
Since the Under One Person script was entirely written by Gu Xingyi, no one knew the characters better than he did—especially their voices.
Gu Xingyi thought about it for a moment and agreed. After all, no one else had actually watched the anime before—he was the only one who truly understood each character’s essence.
At 3 PM, Gu Xingyi was back home, half-lying on the sofa with his eyes closed, carefully recalling the melody and instruments used in Chasing Dreams with a Childlike Heart, along with that raw rock-and-roll scream.
Since this was something Huayang needed, he had to do it right—no flaws allowed. Lao Lin had recommended him, after all. He couldn’t make the old man lose face!
After thinking it through for a long time, Gu Xingyi finally pulled out pen and paper and started writing the lyrics and composition of the song, carefully crafting every part. He wrote with full concentration, even detailing which instruments should be used at specific moments.
It wasn’t until after 4 p.m. that he finally put his pen down. He packed up the completed song and hurried out to pick up his kid from school.
When he arrived at the gate of Jianghua Kindergarten, it didn’t take long before Xiao Nainai appeared in the school’s dismissal line. But something was clearly off—unlike her usual cheerful self who came bouncing out, today she had her lips pursed and looked utterly aggrieved.
Seeing her like that broke Gu Xingyi’s heart. He quickly stepped forward and scooped her up into his arms.
“Aiyo~ what’s wrong with my little princess? Did someone bully you?”
Once in her papa’s arms, Nainai looked even more pitiful. Her eyes welled up and tiny golden teardrops rolled down her cheeks.
“Wuwuwu~ Papa, Fang Xiaoxiao said I got even fatter again, and that I’m about to turn into a little pig!”
Ugh—so it was her classmate teasing her. Fang Xiaoxiao? Wasn’t that the same chubby kid who once said his dad could eat poop? And he's the one calling others fat?
Gu Xingyi lifted his little girl slightly and thought for a moment. Huh… she really had gotten a bit chubbier.
That was thanks to all the feeding from Tao Lele before, and lately, the little one had become obsessed with snacks. She really had put on some weight—her chubby little cheeks were round as dumplings now.
“So you didn’t talk back to him? Fang Xiaoxiao’s even fatter than you are!”
Gu Xingyi consoled her while carrying her toward the car. Hearing this, Nainai’s little mouth pouted even more.
“Wuu~ I did say that, but he said I’ll be just like him soon! I don’t wanna be like him!”
“Alright, alright~ we won’t be like him. But that means Nainai has to listen to Papa, okay? From now on, let’s cut back a little on the snacks, alright? We’re not gonna follow your Lele-auntie—she’s a chubby dumpling!”
If Tao Lele had been here, she would’ve definitely jumped up and punched Gu Xingyi—she had baby fat, not actual fat!
“Okay~”
Nainai nodded her little head seriously, and in her heart, she immediately blacklisted auntie Lele and potato chips.
Seeing her like this, Gu Xingyi couldn’t help but laugh quietly. Sure enough, no matter how old a woman is, she can never stand being called fat! Even three-year-old Nainai was the same!
Gu Xingyi had once seen a post online saying the fastest way to anger a woman was to call her fat to her face. Back then, he didn’t believe it.
Now he did.
Back at home, even during dinner, Nainai ate noticeably less. Gu Xingyi sat with her to watch some cartoons, then finally coaxed the little one to sleep.
Now that she was in kindergarten, Xiao Nainai usually went to bed around 8 p.m.
Once she was fast asleep, Gu Xingyi carefully tiptoed out of the room. In the living room, he reviewed the lyrics and composition one more time. After making sure there were no mistakes, he sent everything over to Lin Guodong.
Old Lin had clearly been waiting—his call came in just moments after Gu Xingyi sent the files.
“Xiao Gu! You’re amazing! These lyrics, this melody—I'm telling you, this song will be selected!”
Lao Lin sounded so excited that Gu Xingyi had to move the phone slightly away from his ear.“That’s great to hear! As long as you think it’s good, Lao Lin, that’s all that matters.”
“More than just good! Xiao Gu, this is the one flaw you have—you’re too humble. Compared to your song, all the earlier submissions are just... forget it. You’re a musical genius!”
Hearing that, Gu Xingyi didn’t quite know how to respond. He just let out an awkward chuckle.
A musical genius? He was nothing more than an average time traveler, transporting songs across timelines. That track had once won Song of the Year in Rock back in his original world. Anyone who knew, knew its value!
