Transmigration: A Plan to Save My Lovely Wife and Adorable Child
Chapter 114 – The Anime Company’s Core Team Emerges
Looking at Chen Feng sitting on the floor like a little kid, clinging to his pants and throwing a tantrum, Gu Xingyi rubbed his temples. He really didn’t expect Chen Feng to pull this kind of stunt on him.
Chen Feng, still sitting on the floor, sneakily peeked up at Gu Xingyi and let out a quiet laugh when he saw the expression on his face.
But the moment Gu Xingyi looked his way, he quickly straightened his face and put on a pitiful little young wife expression.
Gu Xingyi thought for a moment, then sighed helplessly.
“You damn rascal, I seriously give up on you. Alright, get up. We can talk about anything once you stand up. But if you keep sitting there, I’m walking out!”
Hearing that, Chen Feng looked up, saw that Gu Xingyi wasn’t joking, and quickly scrambled to his feet, grinning as he stuffed the agreement back into Gu Xingyi’s hands.
“Lao Gu, don’t get mad. Just take another look. I’m being serious here. Think about it—the script is yours, and we’ll need you guys again later for promotion. Even if you don’t do it for yourself, do it for me. Otherwise, how do you think I’d feel?”
As he spoke, Chen Feng picked up a fountain pen from the table and handed it to Gu Xingyi, looking at him with puppy-dog eyes.
Seeing the sincerity in Chen Feng’s eyes, Gu Xingyi knew he had to respond somehow. But he couldn’t bring himself to accept the shares just like that. Still, there was a better way that could work for both of them.
With that thought, he picked up the share transfer agreement and looked through it. It had Chen Feng’s signature and the company stamp—50% of the shares. What caught his attention even more was the company’s name.
Xingyao Animation?
Gu Xingyi shot a glance at Chen Feng. Just seeing the name told him everything—this guy had clearly planned it all in advance! He’d probably just been waiting for him to show up!
“Fengzi, I’ll sign the name. But on one condition—I’m investing too. Didn’t you say you were tight on money? In that case, I’ll put in five million as well. If we’re doing this, we’re doing it right.”
As he spoke, Gu Xingyi scratched his head. Before Chen Feng could respond, he added,
“But… I don’t have that kind of money right now. It’ll take a bit—at most by next month. For now, use your funds to cover the early costs.”
Since there was no dodging it, Gu Xingyi decided to officially buy in. He might not have the money yet, but his wife would be getting paid next month. Once the album sales rolled in, the money would come in nice and easy.
Chen Feng looked like he wanted to say something, but in the end, he didn’t. Just having Gu Xingyi sign the agreement was good enough—he wasn’t going to push his luck.
Once the signing was done, Chen Feng put the agreement into a file folder. All he needed to do now was head to the business bureau and get the company info updated. With that sorted, Chen Feng grinned from ear to ear, slinging his arm around Gu Xingyi’s shoulders as they headed out of the office.
“Heh heh! Lao Gu, let’s go. I’m treating you to a big meal today—and while we’re at it, I’ll introduce you to a few of the company’s key members! Let’s just call this a pre-launch kickoff party!”
Gu Xingyi nodded. Now that he was officially part of the company, getting to know the staff sounded like a good idea.
It’s just… he felt like he was drifting further and further from his dream of being a full-time stay-at-home dad.
He sighed inwardly. He had wanted to be a laid-back slacker, but in the end, he hadn’t even managed that. Guess the saying was true—with great power comes great responsibility.
As they walked out of Chen Feng’s office, the staff outside were still busy at work.
Standing in the hallway, Chen Feng held up the newly acquired script and clapped his hands loudly to draw everyone’s attention. The workers paused what they were doing and looked over. From a few other offices, five more people came out and turned their eyes this way.
When they saw Gu Xingyi’s face clearly, many of them froze in surprise. Then, their eyes lit up all at once.
Chen Feng, seeing that everyone had gathered, grinned and said loudly:
“Everyone, please put your work on hold for a moment. I’d like to introduce a new colleague to you all. Many of you have been wondering why our company is called Xingyao Animation, right? Well, now you should understand. Standing right next to me is none other than the lyricist and composer currently blowing up online—Gu Xingyi! He, like me, is one of the company’s biggest shareholders.”
“And here’s another piece of good news: we finally have a script for our anime! The script in my hand is the one we’ll be working on. Starting today, it’s time for all of us to give it our best! Let me say it in advance—thank you, everyone, for your hard work! I’m treating everyone to a big lunch today. Let’s go!”
As soon as Chen Feng finished speaking, the staff around them broke into cheers. Most of them had only recently joined the company and had been worried about its future. Up to now, they hadn’t had any real tasks to work on. Still, they were satisfied with the salaries Chen Feng offered.
They had genuinely been worried the company might go under—but now, finally, a script had arrived. And the one who brought it wasn’t just anyone—it was the Gu Xingyi, the current hottest name online!
Suddenly, everyone felt a renewed sense of hope for the company’s future.
Chen Feng told someone to book a restaurant, then pulled Gu Xingyi over to meet the five people who had come out of the office earlier. There were five in total—three men and two women. Four of them looked quite young, probably in their twenties, while one looked just over thirty.
The two women were dressed in full-on anime-style outfits. With their sweet and cute looks, it was obvious they were identical twins.
Gu Xingyi glanced sideways at Chen Feng without showing much expression. This guy… he wasn’t pulling something again, was he? The whole cosplay-style girl with ulterior motives thing had already happened once with Ruan Qing, and that left a bad taste in his mouth.
Just then, Chen Feng began introducing them. He first pulled Gu Xingyi forward and said to the group,
“This is Gu Xingyi, my ride-or-die bro!”
Then he started introducing them to Gu Xingyi, one by one.
“These two little beauties are Qu Siyin and Qu Simeng, twin sisters. One is the animation director, the other is the art director. They’re responsible for the manga’s style, character design, and background design.”
“These two are Tao Jing and Duan Heping—took me a lot of effort to scout them out from University Town. They’ll be handling photography and music.”
“And this here is Hongwei-ge, Fu Hongwei, an old friend of mine. He’s in charge of directing. He’ll be drawing the storyboards using simple lines and giving movement and scene guidance for the characters.”
After the introductions, Gu Xingyi shook hands with each of them with a smile. Qu Siyin and Qu Simeng’s eyes lit up as they rushed to speak.
“Gu Xingyi, even though we work in anime, we’re total fans of Xia Xiyao! We’ve listened to every one of her songs!”
“Yeah, exactly! We only joined this company because of its name!”
Tao Jing and Duan Heping also smiled a bit shyly. They were fans of Gu Xingyi too. Back then, Chen Feng had sweet-talked them into joining the company—but to be fair, his sincerity and the generous pay had sealed the deal.
The group chatted and laughed as they walked out together. Being all young people, they warmed up to each other quickly.
The two cute girls clung to Gu Xingyi and peppered him with questions—mostly about Xia Xiyao.
Gu Xingyi hadn’t expected this. He came out just to deliver a script, and now he was suddenly a shareholder. He’d come out for a simple lunch, and now it had turned into a fan meet-and-greet.
He glanced at Chen Feng, who was laughing so hard he looked like an idiot, and suddenly felt the urge to drag him off to a morning market and auction him off.
This little punk… was he seriously using his name to recruit people everywhere?! This is just ridiculous!
