Chapter 051 – Guessed Right

Every flower has its own blooming season… Luo Qingchuan knew Su Yingxue was trying to comfort him.

“I can’t see through Lu Chuning-laoshi,” Luo Qingchuan said, shaking his head.

Su Yingxue smiled faintly. “She’s definitely mysterious. Like… how old is she, really?”

The two of them stepped into the small classroom.

Inside, there were only two desks placed on the floor.

The room was very spacious, clearly repurposed from some other space. It had a small lectern and a modest blackboard hanging up front.

Su Yingxue sat down at one of the desks, then leaned forward with a smile and tilted her head to look at Luo Qingchuan.

“We’re classmates in the same class now.” Her bright eyes sparkled, and the corners of her lips lifted.

Her eyes gleamed like diamonds as she looked straight at him without thinking. The girl was observing her crush from a different perspective—and the more she looked, the redder her cheeks grew, her gaze becoming more dazed.

She felt like there was some kind of distance… Su Yingxue thought silently as she stood up.

She slid her chair aside, and with a light tap of her delicate finger on the desk, it lifted into the air.

Under Luo Qingchuan’s surprised gaze, the desk floated over to his side and neatly aligned with the one beside it.

Su Yingxue sat down beside him with excitement. “Now we’re deskmates again!”

Luo Qingchuan simply smiled.

Tap, tap, tap.

Elegant footsteps slowly approached.

The two of them looked toward the doorway.

A young maiden entered. Lu Chuning walked in and glanced over at Luo Qingchuan and Su Yingxue sitting beside him. Then, Lu Chuning suddenly felt a slight chill on her feet.

Because Luo Qingchuan’s eyes had involuntarily drifted to her delicate feet. Beneath the hem of her skirt, her calves were soft and fair. Lu Chuning’s face looked young and innocent, yet her figure was graceful and captivating.

That exquisite face was so beautiful that it nearly brought Luo Qingchuan to tears…

Luo Qingchuan felt slightly reassured—at least he knew this little enchantress’s weakness now.

It’s just… attacking that weakness would be quite difficult.

Lu Chuning seemed to sense his gaze. She shot him a resentful glance and quickly walked up to the lectern, hiding her feet in her little heels.

She had changed into a new skirt, still wearing a ribbon tied around her fair neck. Her thick black hair flowed down her back, tied into two cute shoulder-length ponytails.

With a light clap of her small hands on the desk, Lu Chuning said, “Luo tongxue, Su tongxue, our first class will be an evaluation of your current cultivation level to guide your future training.”

Lu Chuning gave a soft, elegant smile and glanced at Su Yingxue, who was sitting with perfect posture.

“Su tongxue, you’ve built your foundation already. I think you could even make it onto the ‘Seeking Dao Rankings.’ You’d definitely make a name for yourself—and maybe even compete for the top spot.”

Su Yingxue shook her head and smiled sweetly. “I don’t like being in the spotlight.”

Lu Chuning quietly nodded, then turned to Luo Qingchuan.

For a moment, she didn’t know what to say.

She gave a subtle little huff and asked, “Luo tongxue, have you read the Scroll of Condensed Clarity and Cloud Mist I gave you?”

Luo Qingchuan nodded obediently. “Lu Chuning laoshi, I read it carefully. But I’m naturally slow-witted and haven’t grasped its essence yet.”

“Mm.”

Lu Chuning’s beautiful eyes were calm as the sea. “You’re currently cultivating the widely circulated Qi Ingestion Technique, right? It’d be best to switch over soon.”

Luo Qingchuan gave a slight smile. “This disciple will train diligently and not disappoint your expectations.”

I didn’t expect anything from you… She wanted to say that, but after glancing at Su Yingxue, Lu Chuning swallowed it back.

To others, it probably looked like Lu Chuning chose Luo Qingchuan as her disciple for some hidden reason.

Such a hassle.

But…

Lu Chuning suddenly said, “There’s something I can tell you two in advance.”

She reached into her skirt pocket and pulled out her phone, then began swiping with delicate fingers.

“A large-scale academy for cultivators will be established in the future, but that’s still some time off. More immediately, your school’s Seeking Dao class will be receiving a transfer student soon.”

Su Yingxue listened quietly, not asking questions despite her slight confusion.

Luo Qingchuan, however, had a bad feeling.

Then, as if she’d found what she was looking for, Lu Chuning stopped scrolling.

She walked over to them and tilted her head with a mischievous smile. “This transfer student holds a very noble status. Her identity is extraordinary. She’s also incredibly beautiful. I hope you two will get along with her, okay~?”

Then she held up her phone and deliberately showed it to Su Yingxue, who was listening intently.

“This is a photo of her,” Lu Chuning said.

Luo Qingchuan couldn’t see it—Lu Chuning was clearly only showing it to Su Yingxue.

The young girl with sparkling eyes glanced at Luo Qingchuan.

Their gazes met.

Lu Chuning was showing off to Luo Qingchuan.

He probably… guessed it.

He bit his lip, his expression slightly shifting.

…A selfie from the bar?

Su Yingxue froze, lifting her face in disbelief.

Her delicate, picturesque features were stiff with shock.

“Luo Qingchuan…” Her pupils dilated.

Luo Qingchuan clenched his teeth, then slowly exhaled and smiled lightly. “What is it?”

Calm and composed—that was his only choice right now.

“Look at her…”

Su Yingxue gave him a bright, shining smile. “She’s gorgeous! Luo Qingchuan, look at her eyes—they’re golden! And her hair’s so detailed, her whole look is amazing! Like a goddess born of heaven!”

“Right, right! I bet Luo tongxue really likes her too!” Lu Chuning giggled as she crouched playfully next to Luo Qingchuan’s desk and finally showed him the phone.

Luo Qingchuan was speechless.

Guessed right.

The photo was indeed a selfie from the bar, but Lu Chuning had deliberately zoomed in so that only Chen Yanyu’s part was visible.

With her silver hair and golden eyes, Chen Yanyu looked like a nervous little animal, holding her drink and biting the straw, smiling shyly.

As expected, Lu Chuning had planned this.

Luo Qingchuan didn’t think he needed to be this anxious.

And yet, he secretly let out a sigh of relief.

He didn’t want to think too deeply about it—he was a little scared to.

Su Yingxue leaned in and said, “This is at a bar? But she doesn’t look like someone who goes to places like that often… A bar?”

She paused, suddenly remembering the hot topic on the Seeking Dao app recently.

Lightning arts?

Foundation realm?

Transfer student?

Su Yingxue’s eyes lit up, like a curious cat glimpsing through the fog. She smiled happily and asked, “Lu Chuning laoshi, is it her?”

“It is.” Lu Chuning tucked her phone away, her gaze toward Luo Qingchuan showing a hint of smugness.

Luo Qingchuan’s eyelids twitched, but he smiled. “Lu Chuning laoshi, doesn’t that position make your feet a little uncomfortable?”

“Foolish disciple, don’t worry so much.”

Lu Chuning got up through clenched teeth and returned to the lectern, giving a somewhat vengeful little smirk.

“Su tongxue, Luo tongxue, I’ve already taken her in… as my disciple.”

Su Yingxue was genuinely excited. She gently tugged on Luo Qingchuan’s sleeve. “We’ll have a genius in the Foundation realm as our tongxue!”

“Mm… yeah.”

Luo Qingchuan felt numb.

Tomorrow was the weekend. He’d already bought the tickets—he was going with Chen Yanyu to see Words Must Be Understood. After that, her emotional knot might finally be untied.

But…

Lu Chuning, seriously—are you just scared the world isn’t chaotic enough?

Luo Qingchuan suddenly felt like becoming the kind of person who holds grudges. Looking at the cute ribbon around Lu Chuning’s neck, he couldn’t help but think—it’d be perfect if it were a collar instead.

Maybe then, this little demoness would behave.
